“One expression of this attitude [of Jesus] is when we stop and give thanks to God before and after meals. I ask all believers to return to this beautiful and meaningful custom. That moment of blessing, however brief, reminds us of our dependence on God for life; it strengthens our feeling of gratitude for the gifts of creation; it acknowledges those who by their labours provide us with these goods; and it reaffirms our solidarity with those in greatest need.”

COMMUNITY: Living His Communion Together

The life of communion lived together at St. John's can offer each parishioner an experience of the Lord's hospitality of the heart.

Welcome Committee: If you are new to the area, we are here to warmly welcome you and help you get settled in your new community.
Parish Registration Form

Community Sunday: Come join your fellow parishioners on the third Sunday of each month after Sunday Masses in the Kennedy Room. To help with the monthly hospitality, contact Liz Kelley Sholar, kelshomd@gmail.com.

Heritage Committee: Our parish is enriched with the presence of people from many cultures who all make up the Body of Christ at St. John's. The Heritage Commmitee offers the charisms, gifts and talents of many countries at a monthly 12PM Sunday Mass, Community Sunday, and periodic Heritage Pot Luck Suppers. If you would like to join in this wonderful work of grace at St. John's, contact Ahn Nguyen, (301) 460-4664.

Next International Potluck Dinner: Come and join us in celebrating St. John's diversity. Bring a dish to share with our community or offer a contribution for the Parish. Although this is a community event and not a fundraising event, all proceeds go to the parish. Saturday, March 7th at 6:30 pm in SJE's School Aduditorium, following the 5:30 Mass in the Main Church. Download a flyer to share with your friends and family.

-St. Gregorio Naciancino (330-390)
