The Children's Liturgy of the Word is offered at the 10:15 a.m. Family Mass to young children, aged 3 to 6.
After the Introductory Rites of the Mass, the Celebrant invites children to approach the altar. Liturgists lead preschoolers and K-1st graders to their respective rooms, based on age. Children hear a simple version of the week's Word of God and engage in an activity to reinforce the reading. A prayer, the children's own intentions and a simplified Creed conclude the Children's Liturgy. Children quietly return to the main church to rejoin their families.
Parents are asked to chaperone their children until they can participate in a group-friendly manner. This offering follows the CCD calendar and is unavailable on holiday weekends and during the summer.
